Walk in Wardrobes North Yorkshire, Dressing Rooms Made to Measure
Dressing rooms planned around your clothes, made and fitted by our own team
A walk in wardrobe does not need a big house. A spare box room or one end of a long bedroom can become a dressing room or a dressing area, with hanging, drawers and shelves planned inside wardrobes made to fit the space. The walk in wardrobes North Yorkshire homeowners plan with us are made in our North Yorkshire workshop and fitted by our own team.
A dressing room is the next step on from fitted wardrobes in North Yorkshire. Instead of one run of doors along a bedroom wall, your clothes get a small room of their own, lined with wardrobes and laid out so you can see what you have and reach it easily.
Your dressing room is planned with you. We are a family business with over ten years of experience. You can read what our customers say in our Google reviews.
Planned around the clothes you own
We start with what you wear, not a standard layout. At the design consultation we talk through what needs to hang, what you fold, and where shoes and bags will go. If two of you share the room, each side can be planned differently.
Then we measure the room: alcoves, chimney breasts, sloping ceilings, radiators, windows and the way the door opens. A radiator or window can rule a wall out for tall units, and the door position sets where the walkway runs. In a narrow box room, the width usually decides which wall takes the hanging and which takes the shelves or drawers. We plan the whole layout with you before anything is made.
Hanging, drawers, dressing tables, finishes
Behind the doors, each wardrobe is planned inside. Hanging rails, doubled up where shirts and jackets are short, keep everyday clothes easy to reach. Drawer stacks and shelves keep folded knitwear, underwear and the clothes you are not wearing this season out of the dust. Where there is room, a dressing table can sit by the window, with drawers for watches and jewellery.
Everything is made in our own workshop and spray shop. Units can be painted and sprayed in the colour you choose, with shaker, panelled or handleless doors, and the insides finished in an oak effect, white or grey. LED strip lighting can be built into the wardrobes, so you can see what you have when the doors are open. If you want it, tell us at the design consultation so the units can be planned around it and we can coordinate with an electrician for the power supply where one is needed.
How we fit a dressing room
Walls, floors and ceilings are rarely true, especially in older houses, so units are fitted to the room on site by our own team. Where a wall runs under a sloping ceiling, as in the loft bedrooms we have fitted, the tops and sides of the wardrobes can be angled or stepped to follow the roof.
If the room needs other work before the units go in, we manage the project and coordinate with the other trades where needed, so each job happens in the right order. In September 2026 we were rated 5.0 on Google, and reviewers mention wardrobe fitting, the quality of the work, attention to detail and cleanliness.
We work in North Yorkshire towns and villages including Stokesley, Northallerton and Thirsk, and in Yarm and Eaglescliffe in Teesside. See the areas we cover, or contact us to arrange a design consultation.

Questions
Walk in Wardrobe Questions
Is a box room big enough for a walk in wardrobe?
It depends more on the width of the room than the length. We have lined a narrow room with painted panelled wardrobes on three walls, but the depth the hanging needs and the space to open the doors decide what fits in yours. We talk through your room at the design consultation and plan the layout with you before anything is made. Our guide to maximising storage in smaller bedrooms has more ideas.
Do I need a spare room for a dressing room?
No. If there is no room to give over, fitted wardrobes and a dressing table can be planned together along one bedroom wall as a dressing area. We look at the space with you at the design consultation and plan the layout together.
Should a walk in wardrobe have doors or be open?
Doors keep clothes out of the dust and give a calmer look if the dressing room opens straight off the bedroom, so we line the walls with fitted wardrobes. Behind the doors, hanging rails, drawer stacks and shelves are planned around what you wear, with the things you reach for most at the easiest height. We talk through the layout with you at the design consultation.
Can the dressing room match my bedroom furniture?
If you are planning both rooms, we can design the dressing room alongside your bespoke bedroom furniture so the doors, handles and finishes carry through. If you want the dressing room to sit with furniture you already have, bring photos to the design consultation and we will talk through a sprayed colour, door style and handles that work with it.
